I was wondering if there's a way to contact Google to correct the citation number of a specific article in Google Scholar Index? There's a paper of mine of which the citation number in Google Scholar is a few short than the actual number of citation shown on the official journal link of my paper.
It particularly frustrating that the article that cited my particular paper also cited other papers of mine and they all have shown up in my Google Scholar index. Thus it's a purely a missing citation issue, not that this article was not captured by Google Scholar.
Any recommendations are appreciated. I think many other people have faced similar issues. Thanks.
This question is asked very often. GS is a crawler-based indexing database. It usually finds publications and citations automatically to include under your GS profile. The crawler(s) is/are not always be able to trace every citation received by your publication(s). There could be numerous reasons for this. For example, mismatch of cited name and profile name, incompatible metadata formats used by the journal (article) that cited your article, and so forth. I don't think contacting the Google team would work here since this is a very common issue and indexing/citing process mostly independent of manual intervening. Perhaps, the problem will be solved after some time, if the crawler(s) traced the cited article somehow.
