I want to perform ecological niche modeling for a plant species. I have downloaded average temperature data from World clim version 2 . I have converted them into .asc format using R software. But after that I dont know how to trim that files using DIVA GIS to obtain only the geographical location which I am going to map (my country Sri Lanka). Does anyone know the steps of performing that?
In DIVA GIS you would use the Cut function. See page 61 of the attachment. The easiest way is just to draw a box around Sri Lanka. The best answer is to just use GDAL. It is free and fast and built for this task. The command you need is GDALWARP. Below is the code, I used tifs and shapes but almost anything works.
gdalwarp -cutline Srinlanke.shp inputraster.tif ouput_raster.tif
