Dear all,
I need to process several classified GIS maps in FRAGSTATS. All files are in GeoTiff format. I do not have ArcGIS. I also assume that when you export files to ASCII format in QGIS often there are glitches. I need to do this task in open source software and in the simplest possible way. I thought of GRASS GIS r.out.scii or r.out.bin. Not sure it will work well. I will be grateful for advice!

Fragstats supports GeoTIFF files. Make sure your projection is ina projected coordinate system with meters as the measurement units. Fragstats makes that assumption about pixel size (pixel size should be calculated in meters). I would also follow Souvik's suggestion. Go the the Fragstats manual and you will be able to get a lot of useful information.

Yes I tried the latest version of FRAGSTATS, it reads GeoTiff.
