I have done flood mapping of a certain area with SAR (Sentinel-1) image. But I am stucked at one point. I could not convert the final SAR output into vector format to present in ArcGIS. How can it be done??
Amin, why do you want to convert a SAR image into a vector file? It is simple to create a vector layer/shape file of flooded/inundated areas using the SAR image as the background. This can be done by digitization or through many other tools which are available in standard GIS/RS software such as ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS or any other open source GIS software. One of the tools which I like to work with is found in ERDAS Imagine called 'Grow Region' tool. Google for it. Once you create a shape file of the flooded area, you can then use this shape file to overlay with any satellite imagery or Sentinel-1 SAR image of the same area. I created a flood inundation map some years ago using the same principle. Check the attached image. This is exactly what Disaster Charter has done for mapping the flooded areas post Cyclone Roanu in the context of disaster mapping in Bangladesh and created a map out of it.
I have never used SAR images for this puporses, so I am not sure if what I am going to tell sounds stupid. Can you reclassify the values of the floded area, getting a grid with 0 / 1 image? then you just have to convert the grid into vector.
And can you distinguish beetween flooded and not flooded areas? Sorry to repeat myself, but if it is img maybe you can reclassify after converting into grid. I did that proccess hundred of times to get inundation polygons over a DEM during my PhD. :p
You should check attribute table of your .img format data. If you can see your classes seperately in the attribute table then you can convert them to vector file. Otherwise, you need to reclassify your data either in ERDAS or ARCGIS.
