First you need to remove the text in the file.If the data is arranged in Long,Lat,Depth,Time,var1,var2 etc. Then define axes for x,y,z and t.The create a grid and read the variable as "file/grid=grid_name/var="lat,long,depth,time,var1,var2,"/column=5 salt.dat."

save/file=name.nc/clobber var1,var

I was trying with reshape function, where time axis have error.

You dont need to remove the header in the text file , you can just count the no of rows of text and just add skips=the same no in the above command

for ex:

If you have 5 rows of unwanted text

file/grid=grid_name/var="lat,long,depth,time,var1,var2,"/skips=5/column=5 salt.dat
