Please i want to collect data from solar panels using acs712 current sensor but i am a bit confused. solar panels is connected to dc/dc converter with an output to charge battery. so i connected acs712 directly to solar panels, is it correct?i am new in this area any help. find attached the connection

In your scheme, the current sensor would short-circuit the cells.
Current sensors always have to be in series to the source - you sketched it in parallel.
Take DC+ from the solar panels and connect it to IP+ of the sensor.
Then continue from IP- of the sensor to the rest of the setup.
This way, the current goes through the sensor, generating the magnetic field needed for the measurement.
The resistance between IP+ and IP- should be close to zero as it is just a piece of wire.

ACS712 has to be in series with PV panel and its a unipolar supply based current sensor.
This sensor will not be as accurate as LEM so please verify your sensitivity and accuracty requirement.
