I am looking for a method to perform conjugation of IL-6 detection antibody with an organic molecule. I want to perform NCS linking, similar to how it is done with fluorophore.
Three reactive moieties (amine, sulfhydryl and carbohydrate) in the antibodies are chiefly favored for conjugational purpose. You can refer to the article attached for the protocol.

As Malcolm described based on the functional groups in the anti-body, you can select the fluorophore. For example, if your antibody has an amine group then you can select fluorophore with succinimidyl ester group and the two would react under basic conditions. Then can purify the product using dialysis/precipitation.
