I am working on detecting a type of gas using amperometric type sensor. The sensor seems to have a dependence on humidity. I have a setup to generate different RH, and the effect of 100% RH is like this: https://i.stack.imgur.com/0yKFG.png
In the ideal situation, this spike should be flat. Can you suggest any methods of compensating for RH transients?

Can you change the sensing layer? If yes, search for materials sensitive to the target gas but insensitive to humidity.
Another way is to use a controlled gas sensing setup which does not allow the humidity to enter the test chamber.
Can you implement these? What are the limitations you have?

If you could monitor the humidity level inside the sensing chamber simultaneously with your sensing process, you can compensate the humidity effect by response calculation.
