There are very many different ways of comparing your genes with similar once in the genebank or database.

1.First you can use the MEGA software or any other one to perform similarity or homology search using basic local alignment serach tool. this blast will give most of the available sequence in the database or gene bank that is similar to your sequence query interms of identy, similarity, quert length and E -values.

2. Select the sequnce you will require and download.

use MEGA to align the sequence using multiple sequence alignment option.

3. you can further compare the physicochemical properties of the sequences, secondary and tertiary structures, G-C contents, domain architecture of the sequences, conserved regions, mutations and types, bottlenecks in thier expressions and many more comparative analysis.

4. You will need SOPMA, I -Tasser, Expasy.org. GORIV, SMART, online software to do your comparison.

Field trial data can not be compared directly with Genbank data. If you have genotyping data. Can you elaborate what do you mean by field trial: what plant ?, what trait ?, genotyping / phenotyping data ?

My field trial includes 210 accessions of soya bean and I pheontyped quantitative characters like height, yeild, biomass etc. I also have the phenotype data of the previous trials from the gene bank. now i want to compare the phenotyped data of my field trial with already available gene banks phenotypic data.
