I have a question on how to compare two data set with different scale (range) and units. Assume that I have collected two soil sample parameters such as soil pH, clay percent etc. The soil ph ranges from 1-14; clay ideal could be from 0-100%.
For instance, I have two sets of data for both: one data before and another data after some kind of soil enhancement intervention. Assume that for pH, the change is from 5 to 8, and for clay from 20% to 80%. How can I say that which change is higher than the other? I know there are some normalization methods to make all data ranges from 0-1, but do we have any other methods? which method would you suggest ? please provide some scientific paper or similar applications?
