In my master thesis, I want to identify which factors affect the probability to invest into social impact.
In my model, I have 5 independent variables (Pro-social attitude, Socially-responsible consumption, Perceived effectiveness, Perceived financial return, Perceived risk) and my dependent variable is the probability to invest into social impact.
For each independent variable, I have a set of questions in my questionnaire (with a 5 - and 7 point Likert scale).
I guess I will have to use the means of the items for each question, but how can I do that in specific? Do you have any STATA code for this?

I think you don't need to estimate such means,... you can directly use a structural equation modeling
rest for the nature of your DV ( is it continuos or dummy (1 : Invest ; 0 : No) ;

Chellai Fatih: I did not try structural equation modeling - is it complicated? Right now I want to keep it as simple as possible. Currently my dependent variable is coded with the mean value from the respective questions, so for each observation, it's a value from 1-7. How can I manage to get it binary (1: Invest 0: Not Invest)? Do I have to define a threshold value and then recode it to 0 or 1?

It's not so complicated, personally and regarding your data set, a SEM method is more appropriate , because you deal with what we call " Latent Variables" : e.g: All theses variables are Latent ( which in fact constructed using questions (or indicators)

For Application such method you can use Stata ( I'm not familiar with), you can use SPSS AMOS, R packages, ...
