I want to ask about how to get the accurate valence statr of Cr in solution form? As from XPS I found it is +3 but somebody ask that Cr+3 can not be attached on material in acidic solution. So ask to do UV test for this confirmation.Now my question is how to check and confirm Cr +3 in solution form using UV vis.? Could you help me to find answer? Thanking you in anticipation.

The absorption transitions in Cr+3 spectra: are (t32g) 4A2g → (t22geg) 4T2g denoted as (ѵ 1) at 576 nm (= ∆), transition (t32g) 4A2g → (t22g eg) 4T1g denoted as (ѵ 2) at 412 nm and another UV band at 307 nm which may be attributed to the charge transfer. The weak shoulder observed at ~ 670 nm apparently corresponds to the spin forbidden transition 4A2g → 2Eg .
The third Cr3+ electronic transition is (ѵ 3) (t32g) 4A2g → (t2g eg2) 4T1g (p), at ~ 40798.4 cm-1 (245 nm). This transition is belong to the two electron jump.
