I have not tried it but thermic method may also work through evaporation of H2O trapped inside. The best may be first thermic then followed by acid etching.
i did it in several organic acids after then a heat treatment, process, the interfoliaire distance is enhanced (rdx). The results of adsorption are not ready yet...
the probleme that the mordenite type's zeolite containes hught amount of biotite and quatz, do ou have some literatures of how to trougt away these indesirable minerals it must be clean first to be more efficiency
Dr.(Ms.)Nedjma Bouzidi, improving properties of zeolite by removing some impurities or undesirable minerals is an important task for efficiently utilizing these materials in industry or agriculure. From 2010 onwards my colleagues Dr.K.Ramesh and K.S.Reddy have been studying the properties of zeolites or characterizing zeolites for use in agricutre as materials for loading plant nutrients, studying nutrient behaviour in soil and improving nutient use efficiency in crops. You can see our work in my publication list or in the publications of Dr.K.Ramesh(he has published two reviews one in Current Science and another in Advances in Agronomy).Dr.Dilip Kumar Pal from Narional Bureau of Soil Survey and Land use planning ,Nagpur may offer some suggestions in the line you are interested in.I wish success in your research work in New year 2017.
Hi, Nedjma Bouzidi, but are you used natural mordenite???
You can used comercial mordenaite that the volumen of porous that you want , to separated biotite and quartz, with aut destruyed mordenite structure is not possible
you can change or modify the structure of zeolite (mordenite) to make it more porous by activation acid( H2SO4 or HCl ) and you must used mordenite sodic by ion Exchange process in the end you have a good efficiency as an adsorbant.
