I have a transient heat transfer model in ABAQUS. I have temperature values (N11) in each node across my model. I need to calculate the thermal gradients in a particular domain. Any ideas?
Maybe to request the output of heat flux vector and divide it
by minus thermal conductivity.
In simple definition, Thermal gradients can be calculated by knowing the temperature at two points and the distance between the two points. Why you need to determine temp. gradient of a domain, could you pl. elaborate?
Use CAE to create a path between the points of interest, then plot temperature along the path. If you really need the gradient, use the xy-plot method to differentiate the temperature wrt path distance. (Make sure that you plot the path with the true distance as variable, not with node number.)
