I'm exploring the mediating role of intrinsic motivation in between self-efficacy and job performance using a sample of 76 individuals within about 10 weeks. All the scales are a Likert type (1 to 5). I measured the self-efficacy on Level 1 (between) and the other variables on Level 2 (within).

The results show a partial role of intrinsic motivation. In other words self-efficacy influence performance in ways other than intrinsic motivation. How can I analyze the further question of what are some other ways (e.g., perseverance) through which self-efficacy can influence performance? More clearly how can I determine and analyze initial or trajectory groups (for self-efficacy or for intrinsic motivation).

I've used HLM (Hierarchical Linear Modelling) program for the analysis. I'm also looking for an advice for a statistical program.

Thank you for your guiding.
