Oleic acid HLB value is 1, While RHLB is 17 for oil in water emulsion? If I want to calculate the RHLB value of capmul mcm, then how do I do this? Kindly give me a solution for this.
then it could be ideally combined with LUMiSizer or LUMiFuge, which would allow for automatic evaluation of data.
Article Rapid characterization of emulsions for emulsifier selection...
it has to be mentioned that it is more suitable to select an effective emulsifier as mixture of available 'individual' (technical) surfactants than to derive a 'universal' 'RHLB' value. Pioneers of HLB were already aware, that given the technical surfactants, specifically nonionic ones, are composed of a mixture of oligomeres, optimum HLB values depend on mixtures of individual products mixed.
A specific HLB called; necessary hydrophile-lipophilic balance (RHLB) & quot; is required for the oilphase of an oil in water (o/w) type emulsion. A different RHLB is required to form an oil-in-water (w/o)type emulsion with the same oil phase. HLB values for both emulsions of type o/w and w/o can be empirically determined for many oils and fats.
The total RHLB value is the sum of the values obtained by multiplying the weight fraction and the RHLB value of each oil-like component contributing to the oil phase
hi, brother i know its last long time hope you ok, kindly , do you got the answer , i have also capmul mcm c8 its hlb value is 6.5 but i found the required is 10.8 but how?
