A closed container of volume 500 ml contains an analyte gas of 100 ppm. When the inlet of the container is connected to N2 cylinder of 2.5 ml/min flow rate. What will be the concentration of the analyte gas in ppm at the outlet?
I am not totally sure of the approach below however let me know of you find a fault in it. There is an assumption.
So, take volumetric flow out - 2.5 = additional volumetric flow that is gas left from your chamber.
Use the rule C1V1 = C2V2 and your v1 is simply the result of above subtraction and your v2 is simply the volumetric flow out. Your c1 is 100 ppm and your C2 is what you want to find out.
The only issue I can see is we are assuming perfect mixing and the additional gas left has 100 ppm similar to your chamber composition.
