Hi,
in order to compute the effective density of states in the valence band, Nv you can use the following equation:
Nv = 2 [(2*pi* m dh *K*T)/ (h2)] 3/2, with K Boltzmann constant, h Planck constant and
m dh = (m*lh3/2 + m*hh3/2 ) 2/3 the DOS effective mass, where m*ij can be evaluated from the band structure as following:
1/m*ij = 1 / (hbar)2 * \partial^{2}E(k)/\partial k_{i}k_{j}

Likely you can find also already estimated values for the effective masses of your material, listed in some table! Good luck!
