I have some data that contain only Zonal and meridonial wind values.
Subhrajit Rath The sensible heat flux is given as:
Qs = rhoair cp cs u10 (SST - Tair)
Here rhoair is the density of the air
cp is the specific heat of air
cs is the stability-dependent bulk transfer coefficient for heat (typically 10-3)
u10 is the surface wind speed sqrt(uwind^2 + vwind^2)
Tair is the surface temperature of air
SST is the sea surface temperature
QL = rhoair LecL u10 (q*(SST) - qair)
Le is the latent heat of evaporation
cL is the stability-dependent bulk transfer coefficient for water vapor (typically 1e-3)
q* is the specific heat of saturation which is a function of the SST.
qair is the specific humidity (in kg vapor per kg air)
