I am working on a case study that have an hourly rain depth from three rain gauges and want to calculate the SCS type II depth to make a HEC-HMS model.
I already made a summation to the hourly data to get the daily rainfall depth from each rain gauge. Then, I used thiessen polygon method to calculate the average daily depth for the whole watershed and used this value as SCS type II depth in the model. Therefore, I would like to ask if what I did is correct or not.
Dear Omar,
As the type II is a 24 hour distribution (SCS rainfalls defined for 24-hour duration), you have done well to convert hourly data into daily data. you should now choose the best method to calculate the average rainfall over the whole area (inverse distance, thiessen, isohyetes, ... etc)

The thiessen polygon is a good option as you can obtain the gauge weights from it. This gauge weights are required in the HMS meteorologic model.
