I am trying to calculate the reflectance from finite array of nanoparticles using COMSOL wave optics module. The incident beam is a plane polarized wave. I want to calculate the reflectance for both cross polarized scattered light and parallel polarized scattered light. I know that the amplitude of scattered wave is given by ewfd.E0x, ewfd.E0y and ewfd.E0z. But when I am trying to calculate the reflectance using formula intop1(1/2*epsilon0_const*c_const*ewfd.E0x^2)/P_in, where intop1 is the integration over the surface where I am trying to calculate the reflectance, P_in, input power, the reflectance is becoming >> 1.

Is there a way I can calculate the reflectance from scattered field?

I feel like this should be an easy job, somehow I am missing something fundamental. Any help is greatly appreciated.
