I am trying to calculate the land surface temperature of Mumbai using split-window algorithm. In process I need atmospheric water vapour content. i have gone through many papers on this but none of them explain the procedure to get or calculate the water vapour content. Meteorological departments also provides only pressure and humidity data. How can i get that? Or there is some constant value for it?
You can use one of the standard profiles (geopotential height, atmospheric pressure, air temperature, and relative humidity) as described in section 3 of the attached paper or the actual meteorological data from one of the National Weather Services. The method described in the attached paper is very useful as a first step in testing your algorithm (I strongly recommend to use it in your study).
