Hello, this might be quite basic electrochemistry but maybe the more experienced could help me save some time and set things straight.
So, I'm studying an electrolysis cell where an aquatic oxidation reaction is driven on a gold anode at 0.158 V vs SHE. This results in a reaction where 2 electrons are transferred from the reactants to the anode.
I want to simulate adsorption of anions on the gold anode, but my software only allows to set initial charge of the system. I have a 64 Au atoms periodic surface slab (4 x 4 x 4 atoms supercell with one side as the surface), and I want to set an initial positive charge (lack of electrons) in the slab that would simulate a potential of 0.158V vs SHE. How many electrons would I need to remove from the slab to simulate something that resembles this potential?
Thank you
