Can anyone help me to understand the calculation of Health risks assessments of surface water. I have 4 sampling sites and 10 heavy metals for each site. whether I should calculate HQ and HI for each site separately for each metal or should calculate by taking the mean values of each metal for all the sampling sites. I have calculated the average daily dose from ingestion and dermal absorption separately for each metal from each site.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed explanation, Asif Khan but I still have some doubts regarding the calculations of the Hazard Quotient (HQ) and Hazard Index (HI). Should I calculate by taking the average of each site and representing it as an overall hazard or should I calculate for an individual site and represent it as the hazard value of each site?
