Can someone explain me how r21, r32 is calculated in Table 1.
r21 and r31 are the refinement ratios for the grids. r21 is the ratio of average spacing in grid 2 to the one in grid 1 and r32 the ratio of average spacing in grid 3 to the one in grid 2, Given the numbers, I assume the problem studied is 2D.
For example, if you refer to the first column, grid 1 has 18000 cells, grid 2 has 8000 cells, grid 3 has 4500 cells. Therefore r21 is (18000/8000)^0.5, which is 1.5, and r32 is (8000/4500)^0.5, which is 1.333.

Quantifying and minimising the error due to discretisation is of fundamental importance in numerical analysis. It is very important to do it both relative to space discretisation and time discretisation (in unsteady simulations). The latter is often neglected, but it is very important as otherwise you run the risk of producing a phase error. I have the impression that often even editors and reviewers forget this, as I have seen many papers with phase errors due to insufficient temporal discretisation.
