I need to calculate the slot distance of circular and rectangular cutout in terms of wavelength in a waveguide antenna (from mm to wavelength). The reference papers have pre calculated values and no calculation method has been mentioned. For Example :
A circular cut-out on a waveguide is 8mm has "0.186lambda" at 7GHz.
How to achieve 0.186lambda directly without VNA?

the wavelength is the distance the wave propagates in 1 s, divided by the frequency. Example: In vacuum or air, EM waves propagate roughly 3 * 108 m/s. At the ISM frequency of 2.5 GHz, the wavelength is about 3 * 108 / (2.5 * 109) m = 0.12 m = 120 mm.
You can use the following formula to convert any given dimension in meters interms of wavelength: Let the given dimension is "x" meters, frequency is "f", then, "x" interms of Lambda is equal to (x*(f/c)) lambda, where c=velocity of light in free space.
Example1: Let x=8mm=0.008; f=7GHz=7*10^9;
Therefore,
interms wavelength lambda 8mm = (x*(f/c)) lambda
= (0.008* 7*10^9/(3*10^8) lambda
= 0.18666 lambda. (It is the answer mentioned in the attached snapshot of paper).
Example-2: Similarly, If x=1mm dimension at 7GHZ can be written as equal to
(x*(f/c)) lambda=(0.001)*7*10^9/(3*10^8) lambda =0.02333 lambda.
