I would like to know how to calcuate the angle between sensor tower and Field of view at certain known distance.
The known parameters are
1. FOV= 36 degree
2. Height of tower = 10 m
3. Distance from base of tower to centre of footprint = 150m
4. Angle from surface to normal=?
The atatched figure is graphical representation of question.

Rambo, thanks for artical, our sensor is measuring surface reflctance and we know the footprint, height and distance but I wanted to know how to calculate off-nadir angle between tower and sensor FOV.

it is all basic geometry:
please have a look at the attached sketch and try to understand the 3 equations I have written down.
Please solve this set of equations for min, max and your desired angle 'phi' by your own.
You will end up with a quadratic equation for the parameter 'min'. Solving this equation you will get your 'phi' via eq. 1.

Actully the footprint is unknown because with angle from surface to normal footprint varies.
At the first stage your footprint is unknown.
But solving the set of equations for the parameters 'min' and 'max' you will get the length of the footprint *) via:
length of footprint = 'max' - 'min'
*) footprint assumed to be parallel to horizontal axis (= perpendicular to tower)
