I would like to know how can someone who is a beginner in the field of Data Science become an expert in this field within a short span of time.

Abraham Paul just strict to your basics and make yourself strong enough to answer anything from basics. and, then going to application level, implement all those basic things.
Data science is a complex field that requires knowledge of mathematical statistics, probability theory, and linear algebra.
Also, a Data Scientist should have good analytical skills for data analysis, communication skills to present and interpret the achieved results.
As a programming language, the best are Python, R, some data scientists use Go or Java for computer vision. But the first two are the best for it.

Focus on Artificial Intelligence, especially on machine learning; however, please, we use always our thinking. Our brain will still be the best solution for a long time.

Expertise comes with time. What you want is not possible. My suggestion is that you become specialized in a few specific problems (even better one only) , instead of an overall Data Science expert. If you try to learn about averything in this field in a short period of time, you will become an "expert of nothing". Find a real use-case that is around you in multiple instances (not a computer science problem) and start from that point. I worked in the clinical domain as a database analyst for over 25 years, and now my "data science" focus is narrowed down to this fields. Although I can apply data-analytics techniques in other domains, I keep focus in a single set of use-cases.
