How to assign incident wave in case of FSS structures?
Kindly guide me.
what is your meaning? you can use floquet port and change the incident wave phase.

Can you give me an example design or simple steps. I tried a lot with online resources and but struck up.....
If you want to simulate a unit cell of the periodic structure, You should follow below steps
1-set the geometrical parameters and build the structure->z1
2-set the boundary conditions-> z2
(if you want to simulate phase change of S11,S12 you should change distance to reference plane)
3-you can determine number of floquet modes ->z3
4-you can change the type of the modes in "Frequency solver mode parameters" box ->z4
when you do that, you actually assign incident plane wave for floquet mode
you also need to set frequency range, materials, Background properties,.. properly

In HFSS Software:
1-Set the geometrical structure FSS->r1
2-Create a rectangular prism around FSS-> r2
3-Hide FSS-right click- select face ->r3
4-Set the modes (number and type) and scan angle Theta and Phi ->r22
5-If you want to simulate phase change of S11,S12 you should change distance to reference plane in deembed setting->r23
6- You can locate the upper reference plane on the upper surface of FSS->r28
7- You can locate the lower reference plane on the lower surface of FSS->r29
Use floquet ports and periodic boundary conditions.
