I have a model that contains soil and concrete elements. Currently, because I have merged the nodes between these two parts, the software does allow slippage. I would like assign an interface between soil (solid element) and concrete ( shell element). How can I assign the interface to solve that problem? Thank you
It is better to use solid element to simulate both soil and structure . the interface between soil and structure can be simulated by using contact element. you may use zero thickness 4 noded contact element or 6 noded contact element. I suggest you to go through the software manual for better understanding your problem.
What is exactly contact element? There is no such thing in LS-DYNA manual. At least, I did not encounter.
