I have two questions
The first one: when I define a discrete port under CST I find only this three options (S-parameters, voltage or current). However, I want to define a discrete port with 1 W of power (exactly like HFSS software).
how to make that?
the second question:
I'm designing an inductive link so, I have to define the first coil as a transmitter with 1 W excitation while the second coil ( defined as a receiver ) should not be excited.So, how to make this under CST?

1. If you want a discrete port to excite unit power you should choose the s-paramter (impedance) option.
2. It depends on what you want to compute. If you add a discrete port to the receiving coil it allows you to solve for S21 which is the response at port 2 (receiver) due to the excitation at port 1. Port 2 in this case is passive and matched to its characteristic impedance. If you want to solve for mutual coupling with varying loads. you could replace discrete port 2 with a lumped impedance and calculate the load voltage and current.

we simulated something like that for discrete ports that we generally apply for lumped element sources. For CST , impedance port (S-parameter) is often modelated by a descrite lumped but it can not model de discontinuity at high frequency simulation,

First, if you want to use only discrete port with unit power, then you will have to choose S parameter option in parameteric set up. but, waveguide port/ lumped port is also playing a good role to solve all problems.
Second, there are several things to calculate and measure, so what actually you want to measure. For S parameters, you want only reflection or transmitted power both. use discrete port for both sides, where one side will be transmitter with unit power excitation. Then, you can easily calculate power, SNR etc.

how can i simulate a transmitter and a receiver operating at 2.4 Ghz i want to calculate the loss in dbm by changing the distance is it possible to do using CST?
