How to analyse the charactors influcing the breakage happened on grain boundary during calcination?

Hello Everyone

I am doing a research on breakage of SGA during calcination and now I am faced with a trouble. In the calcination some breakage can happen on the grain boundary of SGA particles and I need to find out charactors influencing the breakage of it. Has anyone ever donr similar serearches before and can you please share the analysing methods or papers with me?
