How to add trend lines in a co-relation matrix (like we get in a multivariate analysis of variance) in Matlab.

We are using MANOVA matrix in Matlab, but I am not sure what the diagonal histograms mean. Also, I would appreciate it if anyone can help me in adding trend lines in a MANOVA matrix. Matlab provides me the graph but without a trendline.
