Dear ResearchGate... Are you reading these posts? Is there a way to simplify it so that anyone who joins RG to get an "RG Score" up and running without these limitations and complications. Leave it to us in academia to make the simple things difficult!!!

Interesting observation: on my profile my RG score is inactive, but if I open one of my publications the scores of all authors are visible, including mine too.
If your RG score is still inactive, Don't worry! Login to your researchgate profile( home page) and then open for example a suggested paper of your following researchers. At the end of opened page, you should click on "comments". Then you can see your current RG score under your name. you can see it only here. My RG score now is 0.8 and less than 1. So I can not see it in my profile until it reaches to 1!
Yes, your RG score becomes active when it hits 1, but is still tracked in the background before that point (other people can see it when they click your publications).
It will be activated once it reaches 1. However, you can check your RG score anytime under each of your publications. Go to your profile>Contributions>Click one Publication and there your can find the RG score.
Dear friends I am also facing the same problem, RG score is Inactive. According to Rocco Cavaleri RG score is tracked in the background before that point, I follow the same procedure but it's not fruitful....... :(
Don't worry about the RG score it will be automatically displayed, once you reached the desired target. Take Participation in Q &A, and by doing some research activities you will get this.
I did a quick review to the useful techniques to boost your citations. I classify them as before, during, and after submission.
First: Before submitting
a. Before writing
1. Write high impact paper (Creative; Across disciplines; Hot topic; )
2. Publish with international authors.
3. Team-authored articles get cited more.
b.While writing
4. Cite your relevant past works (preferably at the first two sentences).
5. Make title short.
6. Carefully choose your keywords (indexed better) and use them in your title and abstract.
7. Use a consistent form of your name on all your papers.
8. Publish your article in one of the journals everyone in your discipline read.
Second: When submitting
9. Publish in journal with high impact factor.
10. Make your paper easily accessible (consider good open-access journal.)
Third: After submitting
a. Before Acceptance
11. Post your pre- or post-publication prints. Find publisher’s copyright and self-archiving policies.
b. After Acceptance
12. Ask for e-print from the journal or green open access.
13. Buy open-access right if possible.
14. Promote your work to well known researchers in the area.
15. Use social media. Make sure there are as many links as possible to your article, e.g. from your institute's website, Wikipedia, LinkedIn (used by 65 percent of the researchers)
16. Elsevier's Scopus is the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. Keep it up-to-date so others can find your article.
17. Keep your professional web pages (personal & university) and published lists up to date and keyword your article.
To 'activate' your RG score you got to get active on RG. Upload your work, network with your colleagues and peers. Seek out questions you can answer. It is all about helping out your peers that gets you recognised and slowly gets your RG score climbing up.
Guys, just read the thread and you will find some good answers (See, i.e. Markos Konstantakis' answer or; Basharat Ahmad's).
The RG score activate as it reaches 1 as value. So, you will have to upload your work and contribute in different ways to the platform. Then, your score will improve. It is not just about getting a score, but knowing also what it stands for.
But I have seen, being less number of publications, reads and citations many others have the RG score more than me, So what else are require to increase the RG score?
Dear Tao Li, I believe that the RG score increases with publications ([Article]) in journals with some special indexation. The better the journal (IF, etc), the more the RG score increases. Conference papers, presentations, posters, etc, will not help you.
@Abarda yours is not inactive, it is active on your profile. for others asking the same question, you have to either participate in Q/A of the website, or add a published paper. note that preprints are not effective for your score. And of course one more thing, you have to wait. RG scores do not change instantly and it takes time for them to be recalculated.
