How to achieve good dispersion of seeded cells within wells and avoid ending up with most cells in the center while the rest is almost clear?

I don't have this problem in flasks or big dishes, just in 12-well and 96-wells. After seeding i move the flask/dish in the 4 directions N,S,E,W on the bench to help disperse them but they remain vast majority in the middle and for some assays I need cells to be not clumped together and i already seed a reasonable density that I do not want to go lower
