I would like to calculate the short circuit current contribution of the Wind Farms (WFs) power stations. So, to do so, these stations should be modeled properly within the power system. I have a question, which is when I model the WFs panels (or power stations) with PSS/E software or any other power system analysis software, is the Mbase is equal to Pgen? and the subtransient reactance (x) how should be calculated?
As far as I understand, the fault current supplied by the variable renewable generation (VRG) such as wind energy conversion system and photovoltaics are too less as they do not show "varying reactance" characteristics as shown by synchronous generators during fault. I think the fault current supplied by VRG will be around the maximum rated current.
I use DIGSILENT for my work and the details of the model of VRGs used in that software can be found in the book attached below.
