Can someone explain on how they get the estimation of F equation as in attached figure? Thank you.

the expression of F and the other parameters are a closure relation were they was defined as empirical correlation i.e from experimental study. We used this correlations when we work in the same conditions of those correlations. If you have another conditions we should found another correlation. If you want defined new correlation for For you should made an experimental study.

F=2.35(1/Xtt + 0.213)^0.736 convert to
F=0.64(1 + 20/Xtt + 1/(Xtt^2)) ^0.5
as i am not very clear on the conversion. Thank you Dr
Dear Yushazaziah Yunos, as I looked on this paper I think it is approximation for Reynolds friction multiplier from Ref (31), but the question is the there is misunderstanding for last term as I highlighting with yellow. it shout to be 1/Xtt square

Thank you for the response. Actually the last term in Eq. 13 is wrongly typed. The right term is in Eq. 14. (1/Xtt ^2 ) instead of (1/Xtt).
But my question is how the approximation between the first line to the second line of Eq 13 has been done? It may involve mathematical process but i can't figured out how. Thank you sir.
