A can afford to make some observations related to the disadvantages or gender-specific skills of men or women in football, for instance. B is not eligible to do that. He/she can of course compare the skill of various woman players. In short, as long as A and B only watch the game and not come up with gender-based statements, the "equality" issue doesn't rise.

I am not sure, if Joseph Tham has much insight what issues around equality are about: they are about equal opportunities, and not that everybody is equal or should behave equal. The 'examples' provided are therefore irrelevant. Everybody is free to do whatever he/she wishes. It does not depend on how many hours someone watches women football or men's football. Nobody 'betrays' the ideal of equality.....
You are surely correct if you define equality as “equality of opportunity”. However, some radical egalitarians are unhappy with just the fairness of the process and demand some linkage to outcomes and results.
