how spin orbit coupling can affect the DOS of a DMS (dilute magnetic semiconductor)?
Briefly, spin-orbit coupling removes the degeneracy of the spin-degenerate bands, resulting in (roughly speaking) doubling of the sharp features in the DOS of the case where the strength of the spin-orbit coupling has been set to zero.
