I am having trouble depositing MPTMS/APTES onto tungsten and I am concerned there are not enough hydroxyl groups on the powder surface. So far I have been exposing tungsten to water to hydroxylate the surface but are there better ways to do this?
Hi Wilson Kong, I'm not an expert in this field, but I know that tungsten is very resistive to acids, including aqua regia. Thus it might be worth a try to pretreat the tungsten surface with nitric acid in order to increase the number of hydroxyl groups on the surface.
