I have been asked to do research on nanoscale thermal transport . My boss is interested in nanoscale phase change heat transfer, and thinks that larger scale heat transfer (micro and larger scale ) has been exhaustively documented, but nanoscale thermal transport is still a new area, and phase change adds to its complexity. I have read some literature on this topic, and found that this area needs sophisticated experimental equipment and fine miniature processing, with many researchers in the field carrying out simulations. My group has been working in molecular simulation for over 10 years. However, most of our work is about transport or diffusion phenomena in carbon nanotubes, and we have done no work on thermal transport properties. I'm at a loss as to where to start. Any suggestions?
