Hi,

Achievement Goal Theory predicts that elite sport is characterised by ego-involvement because of the inherent emphasis on winning. However, most studies did not measure the specific states of goal orientation but assessed dispositional goal orientation.

Regulatory focus is an important moderator of goal attainment for personal as well as task goals. Thus, during the match, depending on the score difference between the teams and also depending on the numerical difference between the teams, one can assume that players performance goals evolve.

But I did not find any work supporting this assumption. Someone can help me to find such articles ?

Many thanks

Thierry
