From past 2-3 year Painted bug has become a major problem in oilseed brassica crop. Due to its heavy damage farmers has to re-sow the crop every year in some major mustard growing region of Rajasthan. I want to design the IPM module for a painted bug in oilseed Brassica. Pl suggest me what all IPM component (Treatment) I should incorporate in my research experiment.
Following treatments may be added -
1. Deep ploughing and clean cultivation
2. Spraying of neem oil 2 %
3. Apply recommended cmemicals
> Early sowing of crop.
> Clean cultivation by removing weeds.
> Crop residues should be disposed after over the crop to avoid overwintering stages.
> In case of heavy infestation, spray dichlorvos 76 EC 10 ml or imidacloprid 17.8 SL 5 ml or dimethoate 30 EC 10 ml in 10 litre of water.
Up to date no one any variety which, have resistant/tolerant against the painted bug. IPM strategy is very effective and low cost. Seed treatment with the help of Imidacloprid 70 WG @ 5 gram per kg seed, its very effective at the emerging day of the mustard crop. As we know this pest damage crop at 3-4 leaf stage more harmful than the later stage, so we can also use Quinalphos 1.5% Dust Or Malathion 5% Dust @ 10 -15 kg per hectare. Can be spray Malathion 50 EC @ 600 ml per hectare with 400-500 liter water.
