How mosaicking is different from image combining in a general software like Adobe Photoshop?

Saif Ullah Mosaicking keeps intact your geographic information (coordinates referring to pixels) whereas imaging joining in photoshop or other software is simple stitching. You will loose your geographic information and also the resolution of the image will drop significantly. There is a huge possibility of error in joining/combining images.
