the magnetic properties of metallic materials are mainly affected by their electrons structure in atoms.
but I was wondering if micro-structure and the state of the grains have any effect on the magnetic property or not? to be specific, I want to shift from Ring Rolling to casting process while fabricating a carousel ring, which is going to be magnetize and demagnetize in its working time. the material of ring is magnetic stainless steel.
Since there is significant changes in micro-structure and texture of steel during rolling of Carousel ring regarding it original as-received structure, will it affect magnetic property if I produce it using casting method? if so, how?
Magnetic properties ( retentivity, permeability, magnetization, etc.) depends strongly on particle size and micro structure. Especially in nano materials the changes are significantly influenced by the the size, shape and micro structure.

the concern is to know how? is there any reference which experimentally studied this issue? what would be the exact influence on the coercivity permeability and etc,,, and how much is the variation when the grains size and orientation differ?
Generally the answer is yes, texture and magnetic properties are related. Yet you will not find any formula describing this relation. In fact, the investigations of different samples of nominally the same material are usually done via measuring magnetic properties first and "looking inside" material structure later. The results of such investigations are precious hints for technologists how to adjust some parameters like temperature, annealing time, applying or not the magnetic field, and so on, to get the desired (and permanent) magnetic properties. Needless to say that sometimes even the small deviations from original chemical composition may appear critical.
