Has anyone information how long fish remains are preserved on sandy soil outside a subaquatic context? Do you know references on this subject?

The reason for my question is, that excavations at the site of Friesack 4 in 2000/2001 reveald several mesolithic "pits", which obviously had served as traps for sediment. They contained many burned and unburned flint artefacts (with a lower ratio of unburned flint than their adjacencies), many fish remains and few shell fragments of pond tortoise and mammal bones:

Since then, similar structures have been interpreted as collapsed former ant nests:

For a discussion of such features it would be of interest if they were filled promptly or not. Can the fish vertebra provide arguments?

Best regards,

Stefan

PS: Please find attached photos of the content of fish remains of a 5 cm spit of a quarter of "feature 21" in Friesack 4 and a photo of this feature (the distance between the white crosses on the right side is 1 m).
