How long after treatment should I isolate RNA for gene expression studies post treatment?

Hey all

I wish to know the change in expression level of certain genes post treatment with drug. For this can I isolate RNA after 24hrs of treatment? Should I wait till 48 hours?

Or should I check after both 24 and 48 hours?
