Thank you Matanat Gahraman Gurbanova. You have mentioned a very important difference between the two. Should we seek for Dopamine or Serotonin? Now, I think the question is more clear.
Dopamine we get from short lived or temporary pleasures in this World. Serotonin is something more sustained. Right?
Pleasures end in an hour or so. Or gets over in few days. We buy a new phone or we buy a new car or mostly when we procure a worldly object we get a pleasure of owning it...that doesn't last forever... definitely...it may last a few days for someone and maybe an hour for someone. So should we give a lot of importance for pleasures? Or better is to limit the pleasures to the least? As anyways they are something not permanent, right?
Happiness is something sustainable. A state of mind - peace of mind - inner peace of mind. The focus should be more over here, right? Rather than giving a lot of importance to pleasures, should we not be more interested or serious about happiness? I am not saying to be having zero intrest in pleasures, but maybe let's arbitrarily choose 30:70 for Pleasure: Happiness for the sake of discussion here. Does this seem logical, practical and healthy?
Happiness comes from inner peace and it is not easy to get inner peace. We are constantly bombarded by challenges or problems in life - every now and then - to such an extent we cannot get an equilibrium in life - a balance in life. On top of it we search for pleasures as it is easy to procure - it can be any of the habit forming things too - and it will never last - for example I like Dark Chocolate and I don't mind having it once in a while but I cannot sit and eat it a lot as I get sick if I eat a lot of it - it is not permanent - it is not forever.
So how to get happiness amidst all the challenges we face in life - how to not get caught in the wind of problems and rifts with people we meet daily - we need to be emotionally less attached with everything - we need not completely detach from everyone and everything - but we need to practice consciously to keep ourselves at a safe distance - we can never end any problems or the negativity that is gonna hit us - or the challenges cannot be stopped. Im fact we need these challenges to make us grow better everyday. More the challenges, more we have opportunities to practice how to keep our mind less involved - making us stronger. We should face them - but without getting caught too much in the wind - without losing the equilibrium. For that we should be less emotionally attached to all these. Visualise ourselves from a third person viewpoint. See everything in that mode of vision without identifying too much of 'I' in it. When we reduce the ego component that 'I got insulted at work place' to 'just got insulted at work place' it makes a lot of difference. Remove yourself being too much 'in the equation' to be less disturbed. We can get sad (temporary stuff) but we cannot upset or depressed (more prolonged) when facing challenges.
These made sense to me. Which is why I thought to ask as to if anyone else has experienced these, or whether they do understand these. We all should be happy as much we can and we all should find inner peace - is what I wanted to share here - with my experiences in life.
I assume that based on your scientific research or research survey, survey questions you have concluded that the absolute ratio is 30:70.
The balance of these two chemicals is of great importance for brain management.
It is a bit difficult to determine the absolute rate, when we look at the Human Development Index (HDI) of countries, I assume that it varies according to people's level of mental resilience, beliefs, and physical facilities.
I'm sure the percentage will vary depending on the categories I mentioned above.
For all humanity – how about 50:50 (for the golden ratio) instead of 30:70? :)
