i build baby cry detection system using deep learning algorithm.
i had used hardware raspberry and sound sensor as mic.
when baby starts cry then the system should detect the cry.
its working good when i placed the mic near to the baby but when the mic is away i am not able to detect sound.
please suggest me any techniques to detect sound from max 3 meter range.
You shoul use a better sound recorder, not just a sound sensor :)

You can use body area wireless system to acquire the sound and send it wirelessly to your computer where you have the identification and supervision system. This may be considered an application for internet of things.
The solution to use a sensitive microphone and amplifier may fail because as the distance increases the noise picked up by the microphone may be too high and impair the sound detection. However it may be a possible solution.
I expect the first solution is the best one.

You can improve the sound pickup somehow by using a highly sensitive directional microphone. And / or add a parabolic reflector to the microphone.
This will certainly improve your situation. Whether it will suffice to record / detect some muted sobbing: might depend on ambient noise level.
