I have a collection of 10,000 documents. I need to calculate precision and recall of this collection in a search scheme. is there a way to calculate it automatically, as it so hard to perform this manually?

Generally, because of the quantity I would say that you need a software that will do the work. But if you define exactly what do you mean by precision, may be you could mount ten times 1000 records to excel that will sort the words that signify precision.
'Precision' from the definition is closeness of 'Samples' data & 'Accuracy' is closeness to 'Exact Target'
